Hard (stylized in all caps) is the eighth full-length album by SHINee. It was released on June 26, 2023 with "Hard" serving as the album's title track.
The music video for "The Feeling" was pre-released on June 10, 2023.[1]
Member Onew participated in this album's recording but was unable to participate in promotions due to experiencing ongoing health concerns.[2][3]
The physical album is available in 12 versions: Play, Runner, Maker, Dreamer, four member-specific SMini and four member-specific Digipacks.

On May 31, SHINee announced their eighth full-length album, Hard, which will be released on June 26. [4]
Composition[]
"Hard" is described as a hybrid hip-hop dance genre song which is also mixed with different various genres such as boom bap, R&B, and 90s hip-hop. The track features an intense piano performance alongside SHINee's powerful vocals. Kenzie wrote, composed, and arranged the song to fit the group's music color. We go hard is the song's catchphrase which shows the group's commitment to music and that they don't give up when facing challenges.[5]
"Juice" is described as a high-tempo hip-hop dance genre song. The track is centered around the energetic rap, the bass sound, and the bass line leaves a strong impression. The lyrics talk about falling deeply in love with someone and living every moment of life with confidence.[6]
"Satellite" is described as an electronic pop genre song. The lyrics compare a satellite to a situation where you can't get close to your opponent. The track has a strange mood between the major and minor compositions.[6]
"Like It" is described as a dance pop genre song. There is a synth theme that repeatedly appears alongside the cheerful beat. The vocal color of the group and the falsetto chorus adds charm to the song.[6]
"10X" shows off SHINee's rich vocal combination which catches the listeners ears. The track also has a harmonizing piano performance and a rhythmical percussion performance. The lyrics talk about revealing the instinctive feeling you feel towards another person.[7]
"Identity" is described as an up-tempo dance genre song. The track has a heavy funk base alongside a rough texture synth pad and brass sounds. The cool and groovy high-pitched vocals are stated to be impressive. The lyrics talk about expressing the identity that was found inside themself and not hiding it.[7]
"Gravity" is described as a mid tempo R&B genre song. It has a harmonious minimal track and a lyrical melody. The lyrics leave a deep lingering impression as the lyrics talk about giving your heart to a loved one. SHINee's warm and sweet voices are heard throughout the track.[7]
Promotions[]
On June 9, 2023, SM Entertainment released a statement and revealed that member Onew will be taking a break from activities due to health reasons. Thus, he will not be participating in the album promotions.[8]
On June 19, it was announced that SHINee would be revealing the title track "Hard" at their "SHINee World VI : Perfect Illumination" concert.[9]
Commercial performance[]
As of June 27, Hard had reached #1 in 40 different countries on the iTunes Top Albums chart. It also went #1 on the QQ Music Digital Albums chart.[10]
On August 10, 2023, Circle Chart reported that Hard received a platinum certification for surpassing 250,000 copies sold.[11]
