Handong (Korean: 한동; Japanese: ハンドン; Chinese: 韓東) is a Chinese singer. She is a member of the girl group Dreamcatcher.
Career[]
2016–2017: Debut with Dreamcatcher[]
On December 1, 2016, Handong was revealed as the sixth member of Dreamcatcher.[1] The group officially debuted on January 13, 2017 with their first single album "Nightmare".
2019–2020: Youth With You 2[]
On August 30, 2019, Dreamcatcher Company announced Handong's absence from Dreamcatcher's European leg of their Invitation From Nightmare City concert tour due to scheduling conflicts.[2] Fans started speculating Handong's absence was due to filming for the Chinese survival show Idol Producer.
On October 15, 2019, Handong's participation in Youth With You 2 was confirmed after video snippets of her audition were released.[3]
On February 4, 2020, Dreamcatcher Company posted a notice through the group's fancafe announcing that Handong will be unable to participate in promotions for Dreamcatcher's first full-length Korean album Dystopia : The Tree of Language due to her current schedules in China.[4]
On May 2, 2020, in episode 16, she was eliminated from the survival show after ranking 56th place.[5]
2020: Chinese solo debut with "Dawn"[]
On October 17, it was announced via Weibo that she would release her first solo single, "Dawn", on October 20.[6]
2025: Departure from Dreamcatcher Company, "Fairy"[]
On March 10, 2025, Dreamcatcher Company announced that members Handong, Dami, and Gahyun's exclusive contracts are set to expire on March 31 and all three elected to not renew. However, the company clarified that the group will keep promoting as seven.[7]
