Ha Min Woo (하민우; also known simply as Minwoo) is a South Korean singer under Dongyo Entertainment. He is a member of the boy group ZE:A, its sub-units ZE:A FIVE, ZE:A J and a former member of the Japanese project group 3Peace☆Lovers.

He made his solo debut on January 8, 2018 with his first mini album The Rosso.

Career[]

2010-2017: ZE:A, 3Peace☆Lovers, ZE:A FIVE, ZE:A J[]

On January 7, 2010, he debuted as a member of ZE:A with their first single album "Nativity".

On June 26, 2012, he became a member of the Japanese project group 3Peace☆Lovers alongside Alpha's Nikaido Hayato and actor Sasake Yoshihide with the single album “Virtual Love”.[1]

On February 7, 2013, he made his debut as a member of ZE:A's first sub-unit ZE:A FIVE with their first Japanese single album "The Classic".

On January 21, 2015, he debuted as a part of ZE:A's third sub-unit ZE:A J with the single album "Roulette".

On January 6, 2017, his contract with Star Empire Entertainment expired and he decided to not renew.[2] On August 22, it was officially announced that he had left the agency to start anew and started making his own music with the composer team Handmade.[3] Despite this, he was still a member of ZE:A as they went on an indefinite hiatus.[4]

2018: Solo debut with The Rosso[]

On January 8, 2018, he made his solo debut with his first mini album The Rosso.

Enlistment[]

On August 26, 2016, it was announced that Minwoo would begin his mandatory military service on September 15.[5] He was later discharged on June 14, 2017.[6]

  • He has liked sports since elementary school and was the head of the PE club throughout his third year of middle school.[7]
  • He briefly considered becoming a soccer player instead of a singer.[7]
  • He was accepted as a trainee for Star Empire Entertainment and JYP Entertainment around the same time but ultimately decided to stay with Star Empire Entertainment as he had grown close with the members.[8]
