HINT (힌트) was a eight-member girl group under Starpro Entertainment. They debuted on March 31, 2017 with the digital single "TangTangTang".

They disbanded on September 27, 2022 after the members announced their goodbyes on Instagram.

Career[]

2017: Debut with "TangTangTang"[]

In 2017, TURAN members Hyejin, Haesol, Nael, Cherry and new members U, Arra and Sogeum re-debuted as HINT. Their debut single "TangTangTang" was a trot-inspired song that was promoted on music shows and regularly performed for majority of 2017.

2018–2019: Line-up changes, Walkie Talkie, "Pang Pang Pang"[]

In November 2017, member U announced she was leaving the group. At the same time, HINT announced their comeback with a mini album titled Walkie-Talkie, which included four songs. HINT introduced a new member, ByeolA, who had been a member of TURAN for a short time in 2016.

HINT had a comeback with their album in January 2018. Soon afterwards, they released a remake of their song "Love Beat" and promoted it on music shows as "Pang Pang Pang", their first special single.[1]

In May 2018, HINT used the crowdfunding Hallyu website Makestar to fund their next single album. During this time, Sogeum and ByeolA left the group.[2]

2020: "Eh-Oh"[]

On October 5, a comeback scheduler was uploaded on HINT's official Instagram account. The group was announced to comeback with a single titled "Eh-Oh", on October 14, and would also be their first comeback in over two years.[3]

The title track "Eh-Oh" was promoted pre-release on Pops in Seoul's My Rookie Diaries segment, with parts of the song audible throughout the video. According to Nael, "Eh - Oh" is a medium-tempo dance song and was also described as a deviation from HINT's usual concept, showing a more mature and sexy side of the members.[4]

2022: Disbandment[]

On September 27, the members announced on Instagram that HINT has disbanded by saying their goodbyes.[5]
