Gyuri (규리), also known as Choi Yeon Cheong (최연청), is a South Korean singer, actress and model under SbyMe Entertainment. She is a member of the project female duo RiRi.

She made her solo debut on October 8, 2021 with the digital single "So Beautiful".

Career[]

Pre-debut[]

Prior to her debut, she received training to debut as an idol.[1]

2021: Solo debut with "So Beautiful"[]

On October 8, 2021, she made her solo debut with the digital single "So Beautiful".

2024: Entry into the Mandopop scene, "It's Love", "So I Wake Up"[]

On May 26, 2024, she announced a musical collaboration with Taiwanese singer REAL's agency Sky Future and stated that she would be releasing a song in Taiwan in the future. She also kicked off her full-fledged Taiwanese activities by attending the One Song One Person REAL Cup Music Competition as a judge.[2]

On September 25, she attended the FIF music show stage Summer Adventure and performed her two upcoming songs, "It's Love" and "So I Wake Up", a collaboration with Taiwanese singer REAL.[3]

2025: RiRi's debut[]

On November 1, 2025, she debuted as one half of the project female duo RiRi with their first mini album Rush (Yes Yes, Call It Love), under the name Gyuri.

In June 2023, she held a private wedding ceremony with her boyfriend, a practicing judge.[5] On December 25, she announced on Instagram that she was expecting a baby the following year.[6]

On May 6, 2025, it was announced that she had successfully given birth to her son after a 30-hour induced labor and an emergency cesarean section.[7]

In 2020, she returned to Korea from China and took a three-year break due to health issues. It was also revealed that she had a really difficult time after thyroid cancer surgery.[5]
