Gravity (stylized in all caps) is the first English full-length album by ONEWE. It was released on January 28, 2023 with "Gravity" serving as the album's title track.

It is the second album, after Studio We : Recording #3, which was recorded as a complete group prior to the enlistments of members Yong Hoon and Kang Hyun and released during their military service.[1]

Background[]

On January 16, 2023, the band announced that they would be releasing their first English full-length album on January 28.[2]

The album was completed several months in advance, as members Yonghoon and Kanghyun composed "Gravity" and prepared the album shortly prior to their military enlistments on July 12 and August 2, 2022.[1] Gravity was also prepared at the same time as the band participated in the Mnet band survival program Great Seoul Invasion.

Composition[]

Gravity contains a new original English title track of the same name "Gravity", along with English versions of ten songs from previous Korean ONEWE releases: "Aurora", "Parting", "Regulus", "Montage_", "Rain To Be", "Ring on My Ears", "Trauma (Aquarium)", titled simply "Trauma" for the English release, "Logo", "End of Spring" and "Crazy Good".

"Gravity" is a pop rock song with a prominent funky bass line, written, composed and arranged by Yong Hoon, in collaboration with Giuk, Kang Hyun and Jeon Dawoon, with English lyrics by MUMW's Lee Joo Hee, se.on and Y0UNG and by Giuk for his rap verse. With a dark and sexy atmosphere, the song is a twist from the pure and emotional music presented in the band's "Space Series", expressing the concept with an opposite mood.[3]

All translations for the previously released songs on the album were done by MUMW, translating directly to English from the original versions which had been written by the band members in Korean, with the exception of "End Of Spring" which was translated from the originally released Korean version by a separate lyricist Essie.
