Gaeun (Korean: 가은; Japanese: ガウン) is a South Korean singer and rapper under 143 Entertainment. She is a former member of the girl groups MADEIN and LIMELIGHT.
Career[]
2021–2024: LIMELIGHT[]
On August 13, 2021, 143 Entertainment introduced Gaeun as the third publicly revealed trainee under their agency.[1]
On August 12, 2022, she was introduced as the first member of LIMELIGHT.[2] They made their debut on February 17, 2023 with the EP Love & Happiness.
2024: MADEIN[]
On July 29, 2024, she was introduced as a member of MADEIN.[3] They made their debut on September 3 with the EP Rise.
On November 11, 143 Entertainment stated that Gaeun would be entering a hiatus due to health reasons.[4] On November 22, JTBC's Crime Chief reported that a rookie girl group member, rumored to be Gaeun, was sexually assaulted and harassed by her company's CEO. On the same day, 143 Entertainment released a statement refuting claims of sexual assault while simultaneously confirming that the CEO had made sexual advancements with Gaeun.[5]
On November 29, 143 Entertainment released a statement announcing that Gaeun had officially left MADEIN due to personal circumstances.[6] However, her exclusive contract with 143 Entertainment was temporarily maintained.[7]

Lawsuit against Lee Yonghak[]
On April 28, 2025, it was announced that Gaeun's mother, along with the former A&R team leader of 143 Entertainment, would hold a press conference on April 29 led by the Hanbit Media Labor Human Rights Center to detail the extent of the abuse perpetrated by 143 Entertainment CEO Lee Yonghak against Gaeun.[8] On April 29, it was announced that Gaeun's team has filed a lawsuit against Lee Yonghak.[9]
