Future Idol (퓨처아이돌) was an idol development project conducted by Rainbow E&M. The project was created sometime in 2020 for the purpose of debuting teenage idol groups.[1][2]

The project is assumed to have ended due to the website being unavailable and further inactivity.

History[]

2020–2025[]

Created in 2020 through its parent company Rainbow E&M, Future Idol aims to train, produce and debut teenage project idol groups through its master project, known as 'Future Idol Asia Project' (or 'Future Idol All Asia Project'), which is conducted through multiple agencies whom the trainees are sourced through including Rainbow E&M's own trainees.[citation needed] The project is aimed at the Asian Market with six countries in the program including South Korea, Japan, China, Taiwan, and Singapore.[2] The goal is to debut various project idol groups throughout the coming years, starting with Magic Girl in April 2021, ICECREAM in May, TOP GIRL in June, Perfume in July, Lemonade in August, Sparkling in September, Nonstop and Vanilla in October and On Top in December. A total of 9 groups debuted in 2021.

In 2022, the first group to debut was Silhouette in January, followed by With Me in February, SHADOW and Fresh in March, Pretty in April, Rush in May, Daisy and Red Balm in July, Bubble and Black Rose in August, Villain, Spirit, and Daystar in September, WINNY and Memoria in October, Stars and SCARLET in November, and Amber in December. A total of 18 groups debuted in 2022.

In 2023, the project continued with Cherish in January, Clair and Ascension in February, Delight in March, Closer and Redplum in May, Lucid and Blossom in July, Winsome and Stay in August, Elena Zhao in September, Peony in November, and APACE in December.

In 2024, Flora was the first group to debut in January, followed by Bluebell in February, Heimish and Pearlys in March, Orbis in April, and Ivory in June.

A showcase was held with their currently debuted groups and its upcoming debut groups at YES24 Live Hall on May 23, 2021, followed by another showcase on July 15, 2022.[3][4]
