On March 8, 2018, YG Entertainment announced that they would be releasing one of BIGBANG's unreleased tracks on the 18th. The members wrote the song while working on their album MADE with their upcoming military enlistments in mind. The song's release date coincided the day of Daesung's enlistment, which is also a day after Taeyang's enlistment.[1]

On February 9, 2023, Circle Chart announced that Flower Road received a million certification for 100 million streams.[2]
