Triple H (트리플 H) was a three-member co-ed sub-unit under Cube Entertainment. The sub-unit was composed of HyunA and PENTAGON's Hui and E'Dawn, they debuted on May 1, 2017 with their first mini album 199X.
The unit effectively disbanded following HyunA and E'Dawn's departure and contract termination from Cube.[1][2]
History[]
2017: Debut[]
On March 29, Cube Entertainment revealed that HyunA is preparing to be a part of a new project group that will follow Trouble Maker and was set to debut in May.[3]
On April 4, Cube released Triple H logo in their official sns.[4] The same day, Cube announced PENTAGON's Hui and E'Dawn as members of the sub-unit.[5]
On April 18, it was announced that Triple H will debut on May 1.[6] Two days later, it was releaved that the album is titled 199X.[6]
2018: Retro Futurism and disbandment[]
On May 15, HyunA shared on her personal Instagram a potential audio snippet of Triple H comeback.[7] On June 13, HyunA revealed that they are preparing for an album that will be released soon.[8]
On June 26, it was confirmed by Cube that the group would be making a comeback in July 18.[9] On July 2, it was releaved that the album is titled Retro Futurism.[10]
On August 2, news outlet TV Report reported that HyunA and E'Dawn have been dating for several months and it was denied by Cube on the same day.[11] Also that day, photos of Hui on a date with (G)I-DLE's Soojin went viral, Cube confirmed the pair had dated in the past but was already broken up.[12]
On August 3, Yonhap News reported that HyunA and E'Dawn had personally shared that they had been dating for two years.[13] On August 4, Cube announced that Triple H's promotions for their recent album Retro Futurism are now over.[14]
On September 13, Cube announced they would be terminating HyunA and E'Dawn contracts, citing "lack of trust".[15] Both artists' departures were confirmed on October 15 and November 14 respectively.[16][17]
