1TEAM (원팀) was a five-member boy group under Liveworks Company. They debuted on March 27, 2019 with their first mini album Hello!.

History[]

Pre-debut[]

BC and Rubin had experience in the music industry prior to debut. BC was a former member of the boy group I-REX until its disbandment. He was also a former contestant on the idol survival reality show, BOYS24, and was a member of their pre-debut boy group of the same name. He later went onto another idol survival reality show, MIXNINE, but was eliminated.

Like BC, Rubin was also a former contestant on the idol survival reality show, BOYS24, a member of BOYS24, and also participated on MIXNINE, but unlike BC, he made it into the top 9 ranks to debut. However, their debut was canceled due to disagreements with contract lengths between YG Entertainment and the trainees' individual companies.

On December 17, 2018, Liveworks Company released profile images and interview videos of the members for their upcoming boy group, then known as TEAM LWZ. Another set of photos was released on December 24.[1]

2019: Debut, fandom name, Just, & One[]

Liveworks announced on March 4 that the group will make their debut on March 27 under the name 1TEAM.[2] On March 13, two group concept photos were dropped.[3][4] Individual concept photos were then released from March 14 to March 18 in the following order: Rubin,[5] BC,[6] Jinwoo,[7] Jehyun,[8] and Junghoon.[9] The album cover and track list was then released on March 19, revealing that member BC had also participated in the production of the songs.[10][11] The pre-orders for the physical album were announced and began on March 20 with the physical album to be released on March 28.[12] The group then officially debuted on March 27 with their first mini album Hello! with the music video for "Vibe" being released also. They held their debut showcase at the K-Art Hall in the Olympic Park on the same day.[13]

On June 14, a post was made on the group's SNS with the words "1TEAM Just" and "coming soon", teasing an upcoming release.[14] On June 17, they then revealed that they would be holding a fan con on July 10 with the release of their second mini album Just to be scheduled for the day after on July 11.[15] On June 18, they revealed more information for their first fan con which was to be held on July 10 at the YES24 live hall. The tickets then went on sale two days later on June 21.[16] The day before, on June 20, they released their promotion plan for the upcoming mini album with the first concept photos to begin releasing on June 24.[17] During the fan con, on July 10, the group had announced that their fandom would be called TEAM ONE.[18]

On July 11, 1TEAM made their first comeback with their second mini album Just.

On November 6, the group made another comeback with their third mini album One.

2020–2021: Digital single project and disbandment[]

On January 15, 2020, MyMusicTaste announced 1TEAM's first US tour called Hello! Just One. The tour would be held in five stops from March 6 to March 15 in five cities: Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Dallas, and Los Angeles.[19] However, due to COVID-19, the last two stops (Dallas and Los Angeles) were cancelled as a safety measure.[20]

On July 15, 2020, 1TEAM announced a digital single project. The first single, "Ullaeli Kkollaeli", was released on August 8 and is composed by member BC.[21]

On March 10, 2021, Liveworks Company announced through their fancafe that the group ended official activities on March 14 and also terminated their contract with the company as a group. They also added how 1TEAM's official channels will be closed on March 31.[22]

Aftermath[]

  • On March 22, 2021, Rubin announced on his personal Instagram that he would be pre-opening soon and tagged his tattoo account Colin Tattoo.[23]
  • On March 26, 2021, Jehyun and Jin Woo (as Xen) were officially revealed as two of the 11 members that were a part of the boy group OMEGA X.[24]
