MUU (뮤) is a South Korean singer. She is a former member of the girl groups LUNARSOLAR and A-Daily under the stage name Taeryeong, as well as a pre-debut member of BLACKMAMBA.

She made her solo debut on September 17, 2022 with the digital single "Happy Trip".

Career[]

2016: Produce 101, new agency[]

In January 2016, she became a contestant on the survival show Produce 101, where she represented Yama&Hotchicks Entertainment. She was eliminated in episode 8 after ranking 57th place.[1]

Sometime after her elimination from the competition, she left Yama&Hotchicks Entertainment to join STARMUSIC Entertainment.

2017–2018: BLACKMAMBA, MIXNINE, and A-Daily[]

In 2017, she became a pre-debut member of ONO Entertainment's girl group BLACKMAMBA.

In October, she became a contestant on the survival show MIXNINE. She was eliminated in episode 10 after ranking 46th place.[2]

By the end of the year, she left both ONO Entertainment and BLACKMAMBA.[citation needed]

In October of 2018, Jungmin appeared as a member of A-Daily under the stage name Taeryeong, however, she then left sometime in the same year and was also unable to make her official debut with them.[3]

2020–2022: LUNARSOLAR[]

On July 16, 2020, she was revealed as the fourth and final member of LUNARSOLAR.[4] The group officially debuted on September 2, 2020, with the single album "SOLAR : Flare".

On May 22, 2022, J Planet announced that they decided to terminate the exclusive contract and all members decided to part their ways.[5]

2022: Solo debut, new agency and stage name changing[]

On September 17, 2022, she made her solo debut with the digital single "Happy Trip".[6]

On December 14, it was announced that she has signed with Irion Entertainment.[7]

On December 27, she revealed that she plans to comeback next year as a soloist using her real name, Lim Jungmin, saying also she no longer wants to be remembered as "LUNARSOLAR Taeryeong" but as her real name.[8]

2024: Stage name change, "Shooting Star"[]

On February 17, 2024, she announced that she changed her stage name to MUU.[9] The next day, she announced her second digital single "Shooting Star", set to be scheduled on February 20.[10]
