Ciipher (싸이퍼) is a three-member boy group under Rain Company. Originally as seven, they held their debut showcase on March 15, 2021 for their first mini album I Like You, which was released on March 16, 2021.[2][3]

History[]

2020: Pre-debut[]

On December 10, Rain announced that his company, Rain Company, would be launching their first boy group in early 2021.[4][5]

2021: Debut with I Like You, Blind[]

On a January 27 Instagram Live, it was revealed that the group would be making their debut on March 15.[6]

On February 24, Ciipher released a coming soon image for their debut mini album titled I Like You.[7]

Ciipher released the music video for "I Like You" on March 15 at 6PM KST. They later held their debut showcase starting at 7PM KST.[2] Their debut mini album was released on March 16 at 6PM KST.[3]

On June 22, they announced that their fandom name will be "Clue", meaning that Ciipher could be decoded with clues.[1]

On September 1, the group released a coming soon image for their second mini album, Blind. The album was released on September 28.[8]

2022: The Code, Boys Planet, Fantasy Boys[]

On April 18, Rain Company announced that Ciipher will be making a comeback with their third mini album in mid-May.[9] Two days later, the group released a teaser for their third mini album, The Code, set to be released on May 11.[10]

Keita and TAG were contestants on Boys Planet. TAG left before the show began,[11] while Keita was eliminated in the final episode.[12]

On February 20, 2023, Hyunbin became a contestant on Fantasy Boys,[13] but was eliminated in the final episode.[14]

2023: Keita's hiatus, multiple members' departure[]

On August 3, 2023, Keita was announced as a member of Boys Planet's byproduct group EVNNE (then known as BLIT), which will debut on September 18, 2023.[15]

On August 9, Rain Company announced that Tan, TAG, Dohwan and Won have decided to leave Ciipher and the group would reorganize with the new lineup.[16]
