Map of the Soul : 7 is the fourth Korean full-length album by BTS. It was released on February 21, 2020 with "On" serving as the album's title track.

"Black Swan" was released on January 17 as a pre-release single and the official music video for the title track was released on February 28.[1]

A music video for "We Are Bulletproof: The Eternal" was released on June 12, 2020 as part of their 2020 BTS Festa event.

The physical album is available in four versions: 01, 02, 03 and 04.

Commercial performance[]

On August 25, the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ) revealed that "Friends" reached 50 million streams earning a gold certification.[2]

On November 10, 2022, Map of the Soul : 7 received a 5x million certification for selling over 5 million copies on Circle Chart.[3]

Trivia[]

  • All four covers of the album have the number seven on it, made from seven layers written in differents fonts and different colors, each representing a BTS member.[4][5]
  • The track "Louder Than Bombs" features singers Troye Sivan and Allie X as its composers.[6]
