AWEEK (Korean: 어위크; Japanese: アウィーク) was a boy group under Illusion Entertainment and Oneworld Entertainment. Originally with six members, they held pre-debut activities in Japan in 2018 before officially debuting on January 31, 2019 with the digital single "The More I See".
On January 1, 2023, group members Di1e and Logan announced through their personal Instagram confirming that the group had effectively disbanded after two years of inactivity.[1]
The group's motto is "A week goes by quickly. However, a week is repeated."
History[]
2018: Pre-debut[]
On April 22, 2018, AWEEK's Japanese Instagram account was open introducing the group with individual profile photos, along with their birthday, height, weight, and blood type. The six members to be introduced were Di1e,[2] Chawon,[3] Ilkwon,[4] Hyeon,[5] Aiden,[6] and Yongjin.[7]
2019: Debut with "The More I See" and The Birth Of Seven[]
On January 31, 2019, they made their debut with the digital single "The More I See".
On November 19, they released their first mini album The Birth Of Seven.
2020-2021: "Better Today" and departures of Hyeon and Yongjin[]
On June 16, 2020, they released their first single album (mislabeled as their second), titled "Better Today".
On March 7, 2021, they announced that they would be holding a white day online livestream on March 13 and 14.[8] On March 28, they revealed that they would be holding a promotional online live on April 4.[9]
On April 10, they announced that tickets for their online fansign event, set for April 18, will be on sale on April 11.[10] On May 21, they announced a promotional online live for May 29.[11]
On June 20, it was revealed that they would be holding a promotional online live and talk event for June 27.[12] On July 8, they announced that they would be hosting another promotional online live and talk event on July 10.[13]
On August 21, Illusion Entertainment posted a statement to their fancafe elaborating how Hyeon and Yongjin, who were previously inactive due to personal reasons, will now be departing from the group. The group will continue as a five-member group.[14]
On September 15, it was announced that they would be holding an online talk event on September 26.[15] On October 13, it was announced that they would be holding another online talk event on Halloween.[16]
2022–2023: PocketDol and disbandment[]
On February 25, 2022, AWEEK joined the platform PocketDols.[17]
On January 1, 2023, group members Di1e and Logan announced through their personal Instagram confirming that the group had effectively disbanded after two years of inactivity.[1]
