Kwon So Hyun (권소현; or simply Sohyun) is a South Korean singer and actress under Management Allum. She is a former member of the girl group 4minute and the child group Orange.

Career[]

2005–2008: Orange[]

Sohyun began her idol career as a member of the kids girl group Orange under Manin Madia. The group debuted in 2005 with their first mini album Our Star.^[1] Unfortunately, Orange was largely inactive in the following years and ultimately disbanded in 2008.

2009–2016: 4Minute[]

On June 15, 2009, she debuted as a member of 4minute with the group's first digital single "Hot Issue".

On June 13, 2016, Cube Entertainment announced that 4minute would be disbanding after all of the members (except HyunA) had decided not to renew their contracts.^[2]^[3]

On November 15, 935 Entertainment announced that Sohyun had signed on with the agency, where she would be focusing on activities as an actress.^[4]

2017–present: New agencies[]

On February 8, 2018, it was announced she had signed on with TheCNT.^[5]

On May 19, 2020, Management Allum announced that Sohyun had signed on with the agency.^[6]

Education[]

She graduated from Pungmoon Girls' High School on February 7, 2013. She ranked 4th in her class.^[7]^[8] For college, she attended Dongguk University where she was a student in the Theatre and Film Department.^[9]
