FML is the 10th mini album by SEVENTEEN. It was released on April 24, 2023 with "F*ck My Life" and "Super" serving as the album's double title tracks.
The physical album comes in five versions: A (Fallen, Misfit, Lost), B (Faded Mono Life), C (Fight for My Life), Deluxe, Carat and Kit.
Background[]
On November 10, 2022, during the 2022 HYBE Briefing With the Community, CEO Park Ji Won announced that SEVENTEEN will be coming back in the first half of 2023.[1] On March 11, 2023, Pledis Entertainment confirmed that SEVENTEEN will be releasing a new album in April.[2] On March 30, the album's title was announced as FML and would be released on April 24.[3]

FML was ranked #6 on Billboard's top 25 K-pop album of 2023.[4]
Commercial performance[]
On April 4, YG PLUS announced that FML had surpassed 2.18 million stock pre-orders in three days.[5] It had surpassed 4 million stock pre-orders on April 13,[6] and 4.64 million on April 23, making it the greatest number of stock pre-orders achieved in K-pop history.[7]
According to Hanteo Chart, FML sold approximately 4 million copies on its first day of release,[8] and a total of 4,550,214 copies in the first week, making SEVENTEEN the first artist in K-pop history to surpass 4 million sales in one week. Consequently, they broke the records for the highest first-week sales and highest total sales in Hanteo history, both records that were previously held by BTS for their album Map of the Soul : 7.[9] According to YG Plus, FML sold over 6.2 million copies as of July 5, making SEVENTEEN the first K-pop artist to sell over 6 million copies of one album.[10]
On May 5, FML debuted at #1 on Oricon's weekly album chart and weekly digital album chart for the week of April 24 to 30, selling over 552,000 albums in Japan, which is their highest first-week sales in the country.[11]
FML debuted at #1 on Billboard Japan's Hot Albums chart, Download Albums chart, and Top Albums Sales chart.[11]
FML debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 chart with 135,000 equivalent album units sold.[12] It spent three consecutive weeks on the top 40,[13] and four in the top 50, which is their first album to do so,[14] and nine consecutive weeks on the chart overall.[15] The album charted in various other charts on its first week, including #1 on the Top Album Sales chart, the Top Current Album Sales chart and the World Albums chart, and #2 on the Tastemaker Albums chart.[16]
The Recording Industry Association of Japan awarded FML a triple platinum certification for over 750,000 units shipped.[17]
On June 8, FML received a quadruple million certification for surpassing four million copies sold on Circle Chart. The weverse versions of the album also received a double platinum certification for surpassing 500,000 copies sold.[18] On July 6, 2023, the album received a quintuple million certification for surpassing 5 million copies sold.[19]
On August 13, the Recording Industry Association of Japan reported that FML received a million certification for reaching one million units shipped.[20]
On December 1, American magazine Rolling Stone ranked "Super" #47 on their 'The 100 Best Songs of 2023' list.[21]
