Expérgo (stylized as expérgo) is the first EP by NMIXX. It was released on March 20, 2023 with "Love Me Like This" serving as the album's title track.

This album marks their first official comeback as six members following the departure of Jinni on December 9, 2022.[1]

The physical version of the album was released in 14 versions: Standard A, B, Limited in 6 variations for each members, and digipack in 6 versions of the members.

"Young, Dumb, Stupid" and its music video were pre-released on March 13, 2023.

Background[]

On February 6, 2023, NMIXX unveiled a new video hinting at an upcoming comeback.[2] On February 10, a motion poster was posted which revealed that NMIXX will be releasing their first EP, Expérgo, on March 20.[3]

Composition[]

"Young, Dumb, Stupid" is a MIXX pop genre song that crosses hip-hop and children's songs. It is a song that stands out with young and confident vocals and round-the-clock sampling. It's awkward somewhere in front of an unfamiliar road, but that's why it puts a more fearless attitude into an energetic and overwhelming sound. NMIXX invites you to join us on our journey to unfold freely, saying "You come in before it's too late".[4]

The title track "Love Me Like This" is a mix (MIXX) of bouncy street vibe rap and R&B style vocal lines. It is an up-tempo R&B pop song with a lively percussion sound. am. It captures the true connection and process of change of people who have come to love themselves and love each other due to 'wisdom, love, and courage'. With this, NMIXX and NSWER bring new possibilities to the heart of steel.[4]

"Paxxword" is a track full of powerful and funky grooves, and you can feel NMIXX's wide vocal spectrum and rich harmony. The process of unraveling the complicated mind of the person you want to connect with is wittily described with keywords such as 'Password', 'Logging into you', and 'Hacker Mode'.[4]

"Just Did It" is an upbeat pop song that energetically captures the fleeting moment when they connect like a miracle. It is a song where you can feel the process of connecting with each other, from the thrilling yet bold start of the verse, the harmonious pre-chorus, the hip and catchy chorus, the bridge that changes the atmosphere, and the final chorus with an expanding feeling.[4]

"My Gosh" is a soft pop style song where you can fully feel the sweet acoustic guitar performance and warm emotions. He expressed his surprise at the new emotions he felt after meeting precious beings. Faced with a wide range of emotions, NMIXX tells the story of finally finding the answer to fill their hearts through NSWER.[4]

"Home" is a pop song that combines a groovy and unstoppable bassline and hip-hop rhythm with NMIXX's unique hopeful vocals and group singing. In the rhythmical rap and melody, you can feel the bright and hip sensibility and emotional atmosphere of the members. Right now, it is full of girls' aspirations and excitement heading to the unfamiliar world 'MIXXTOPIA' that they have been dreaming of.[4]

A comeback showcase, Docking Station: Expérgo, was held on March 20 at 8pm.[5]

Commercial performance[]

On March 28, 2023, Hanteo reported that Expérgo sold 630,811 copies in its first week of release.[6]

On March 30, Circle Chart reported that Expérgo sold 660,874 copies during the week of March 19 to March 25. The album debuted at #2 on the weekly chart.[7]

On April 3, Expérgo debuted at #122 on the Billboard's Top 200 Albums chart.[8]

On May 11, 2023, Expérgo received a triple platinum certification for reaching 750,000 accumulated copies sold.[9]
