For other people known as 'Euna' or 'Yuna', see Euna and Yuna.

Euna Kim (유나킴), formerly known as Yuna (유나), is a retired South Korean-American rapper. She is a former member of the girl duo KHAN and of the girl group The Ark.

She is also known for being a contestant on the reality competition shows Superstar K3, Unpretty Rapstar 3 and The Unit.

Career[]

2011-2013: Superstar K3, YG Entertainment[]

She was a contestant in the singing competition show Superstar K3 before signing with YG Entertainment as a trainee in 2011.[citation needed] She left YG sometime in 2013 to pursue studies in the United States.[citation needed]

2015-2017: The Ark, Unpretty Rapstar 3, The Unit[]

She then joined Music K Entertainment and debuted as Yuna (유나) in the girl group The Ark on April 10, 2015 with the single "Somebody 4 Life". However, the girl group was short lived and never released any further music. They disbanded approximately a year after debut.[1]

Following her group's disbandment, she participated in the female rap survival show Unpretty Rapstar 3 in 2016 but did not make it into the quarter finals and was eliminated in episode 8.[citation needed]

In October 2017, Yuna along with former The Ark member Halla joined the idol rebooting show, The Unit. Yuna ranked 10th in the final episode and hence was eliminated as she did not reach the top 9 ranks to debut.[citation needed]

2018-2021: KHAN, retirement from the idol industry[]

On April 11, 2018, Yuna (now using the name Euna) formed the girl duo KHAN along with former The Ark member Jeon Minju under Maroo Entertainment. The duo covered eight popular songs before releasing their debut digital single titled "I'm Your Girl?" on May 23, 2018.[2]

Sometime in 2019, the duo was speculated to be disbanded after being removed from Maroo Entertainment's official website. Euna also moved to the USA in the summer of 2019.[3] As of December 2019, she seems to have left the Korean entertainment industry, now being a full-time Christian missionary.[4]

On March 18, 2020, Euna clarified her situation via Instagram.[5] She confirmed KHAN has long been disbanded, citing mistreatment, amongst other things, as a factor for the disbandment.[6] She also stated that while not being active in the entertainment industry anymore, she is still under contract with Maroo Entertainment.

On May 24, 2021, she shared her marriage plans and officially announced her retirement as an idol.[7]

On May 24, 2021, Euna announced that she would be getting married later this year.[7] She got married to a man named Andy in November 2021.[8]
