"Dynamite" is the first English digital single by BTS. It was released on August 21, 2020 at 12AM EST (1PM KST).
EDM and acoustic remixes were released on August 24 and tropical and poolside remixes were released on August 28, known as the "DayTime" versions.[1] Slow Jam, Midnight, Retro, and Bedroom remixes were released on September 18 as the "NightTime" versions.[2] A Holiday Remix of the song was released on December 11.[3]
A limited edition vinyl and cassette were also made available for pre-order.[4] A limited edition CD single was added later on the group's online American store.[5]
The single's music video became the most viewed YouTube video in the first 24 hours of its release, with over 101.1 million views.[6] It would later be broken by their next English single, "Butter".
Commercial performance[]
On February 28, 2022, the Recording Industry Association of Japan reported that "Dynamite" received a platinum certification after surpassing 500 million streams in Japan.[7]
On April 12, 2023, Oricon reported that "Dynamite" reached 700 million streams.[8]
On January 22, 2024, the French National Syndicate of Phonographic Publishing awarded "Dynamite" a diamond single certification for surpassing 50 million equivalent streams.[9]
On May 9, the Recording Industry Association of America awarded "Dynamite" a quintuple platinum certification for selling over 5 million units.[10]
On August 14, Oricon announced that "Dynamite" surpassed 800 million streams in Japan.[11]
