"Dreams Come True" is the fourth digital single by aespa. It was released on December 20, 2021 as part of SM's remastering project and SMTOWN 2022 : SMCU Express project through SM STATION.[1]

It acts as the pre-release for SMTOWN's winter album, 2021 Winter SMTOWN : SMCU Express.[2] The song was later included digitally on the mini album Girls as a bonus track.

It is a remake of the song of the same name by S.E.S. from the 1998 full-length album Sea & Eugene & Shoo.

Background[]

On November 4, 2021, it was announced that the group would participate in SM’s remastering project and release their own version of S.E.S.’s "Dreams Come True" before the end of 2021.[3]

On December 10, 2021, it was announced that the group would be part of the winter album 2021 Winter SMTOWN : SMCU Express as part of SMTOWN. The album was released on December 27, 2021.[4] On December 11, 2021, it was revealed that the music video for the group's version of "Dreams Come True" would be released on December 20, 2021 as part of the project.[5]

Promotions[]

On December 23, 2021, a documentary was released by YouTube Originals showing behind the scenes of the remake of the song.[6][7]

The group performed the song for the first time at the 2021 MBC Gayo Daejejeon on December 31, 2021.[8] On January 1, 2022 the song was performed on SMTOWN Live 2022 : SMCU Express@Kwangya, from then on the group has performed the song on music shows like Show! Music Core and Inkigayo.[9][10]

Commercial performance[]

After being performed on 2021 MBC Gayo Daejejeon on December 31, 2021, the single reached the top 10 of several Korean digital charts like Melon, FLO, VIBE, and Bugs.[11]
