Doyeon (도연; also known by her full name Kim Do Yeon) is a South Korean singer and actress under Fantagio. She is a former member of the girl group Weki Meki and the project girl group I.O.I and special unit WJMK.
Career[]
2016–2017: Produce 101, I.O.I[]
In January 2016, Doyeon appeared as a contestant on the survival show Produce 101 where she represented Fantagio Music. She ranked 8th place in the finale, thus becoming a member of I.O.I.[1] The group officially debuted on May 4, 2016 with their first mini album Chrysalis.
On January 29, 2017, the group disbanded following the release of their third and final digital single "Downpour".
2017-2024: Weki Meki[]
On May 1, 2017, Fantagio Music announced that Doyeon, alongside fellow I.O.I member Yoojung, would be debuting in a new girl group together.[2]
On June 4, Doyeon was introduced as the fifth member of Weki Meki.[3] The group made their debut on August 8 with their first mini album Weme.
On August 16, 2024, Fantagio announced that Weki Meki had effectively disbanded on August 8 after five members left the agency. However, Doyeon was still in discussions of renewing her contract with the agency.[4]
On November 18, Fantagio announced that Doyeon had renewed her exclusive contract with the agency.[5]

- In elementary, Doyeon was class president, and in middle school, she became vice president. She was a cheerleader for three years and was also captain, and has led the squad to a national title.
- During the production of Produce 101, she received the nickname "Little Jun Ji Hyun" due to her resemblance to the actress Jun Ji Hyun.
- Prior to Produce 101, Doyeon was a trainee for 1 year and 1 month.[7]
- Her and fellow former I.O.I member Mina were born on the exact same day (December 4, 1999).
