"Ditto" is the first digital single by NewJeans. It was released on December 19, 2022, as a pre-release single for the group's first single album "OMG".[1]
Commercial performance[]
"Ditto" reached number 1 in seven different countries on the iTunes Top Songs chart. The song also reached number 1 on the realtime chart for Genie, Bugs, and Melon.[2]
At 10:30am on December 25, 2022, "Ditto" got it's first certified all kill.[3] At 12:30am on December 26, "Ditto" got its first perfect all kill which makes it the seventh song in 2022 to do so. It was also NewJeans' first perfect all-kill.[4] "Ditto" stayed at number 1 on the Genie and Bugs weekly charts for five consecutive weeks.[5] The song was also number 1 on the Melon weekly chart for 14 consecutive weeks which makes it the first song to do so.[6] "Ditto" spent number 1 on Melon's daily chart for 76 days making it the longest charting song at the position.[7]
On January 9, 2023, Billboard announced that "Ditto" went from number 11 to number 4 on their Global Excl. US chart and number 26 to number 8 on the Global 200 chart.[8] On January 17, 2023, it was announced that "Ditto" debuted at number 96 on the Hot 100 chart, making it their first-ever entry and the fastest K-pop group ever to enter the chart at the time before it was overtaken by FIFTY FIFTY's "Cupid" in March 2023.[9][10] "Ditto" spent four consecutive weeks on the Hot 100.[11]
On January 13, the United Kingdom's Official Charts announced that "Ditto" had debuted at number 95 on the Official Singles Chart, making NewJeans the fastest K-pop girl group in history to enter the chart.[12] "Ditto" spent two consecutive weeks on the chart.[13]
On March 28, 2023, the Recording Industry Association of Japan reported that "Ditto" surpassed 50 million streams in Japan which means it received a gold certification.[14] On June 27, 2023, "Ditto" received a platinum certification for reaching 100 million streams.[15] On April 23, 2024, it received a double platinum certification.[16]
On August 10, 2023, Circle Chart reported that "Ditto" received a million certification for surpassing 100 million accumulated streams.[17]
"Ditto" was ranked #61 on the 2024 Billboard Japan's Hot 100 year end chart.[18]
