"Dancing Queen" is the third Korean digital single by Girls' Generation. It was released on December 21, 2012 as a pre-release for their fourth Korean album I Got a Boy.
The song is a Korean remake of the 2008 single "Mercy" by Welsh singer Duffy.
Background[]
Recorded in 2008, the song was initially scheduled to be released as the title track for the group's first mini-album. Nevertheless, the plan was withdrawn, and "Gee" and the mini-album of the same name was released instead.
Most parts of the music video of the song were filmed in 2008 as well.
