Danbi (단비), formerly known as Sia (시아), is South Korean trainee. She is a former member of the trainee group YOURS. She is also a former member of the cancelled girl group Moonlight Girls.
She will make her solo debut in fall of 2023.[1]
Career[]
2018–2021: Moonlight Girls & YOURS[]
Sometime in 2018, Danbi, then known by her former stage name, Sia, became a member of the pre-debut girl group Moonlight Girls under NDS Entertainment. Moonlight Girls were supposed to make their debut with the song "Go Go Up" in 2020, which they began performing in September 2019.[2] It was Sia who revealed through her Afreeca TV account that "Go Go Up" was scheduled to be released in April 2020,[3] however it was delayed. Moonlight Girls went on a hiatus due to COVID-19 in June, 2020[4] before announcing their disbandment on August 18, 2020.[5]
Later on the same year, Danbi joined the trainee group YOURS under Deep Studio Entertainment, as evident by changing her Instagram username to include "your" and being followed by the group's official Instagram account. Danbi was confirmed as a trainee on December 7, when a group image was released which included her.[6] Later on, YOURS officially released the first few trainee teaser images of Danbi on December 7.[7]
On August 11, 2021, Danbi revealed that her contract was terminated with Deep Studio Entertainment because she fixed her eyeliner that was smudged.[8] Deep Studo Entertainment later sued Danbi for defamation, however she was cleared of charges.[1]
