Dabi (다비), also known by her birth name Jiwon (지원) and formerly known as Yudi (유디), is a South Korean rapper and dancer. She is a member of the dance crew Allure Dive. She is also a former member of the girl group AREAL, dance team DIANA and a pre-debut member of MIDNIGHT.
She is also known for being a contestant on the survival show Show King Night with team Slush and the jihadol survival program Girls Frontier with team Midori Sour.
Career[]
2019: MIDNIGHT[]
On February 27, 2019, she was revealed as a member of the upcoming girl group MIDNIGHT under the stage name Yudi.[1] A couple of days later, on March 2, the group officially introduced her through a dance cover uploaded to their YouTube channel.[2]
She left the group shortly after they released their first single without any notice.
2020: AREAL[]
On June 25, 2020, she was revealed as the third member of AREAL under the stage name Dabi.[3] The group debuted on August 21 with the digital single "Wake Me Up".
On December 23, JZ Factory announced that she and Hyebin had left the group on the 16th due to health reasons.[4]
2021–2022: New career, retirement from idol industry, Allure Dive[]
On August 19, 2021, she turned to her Instagram to explain her struggles with the entertainment industry. She mentioned that every company she had been with had had issues and that's why the entertainment industry lost meaning to her. She announced that she was currently focusing on becoming a dance teacher. She also stated that, if she ever got the chance to become an idol again, she would try, but that she had lost all confidence at the time.[5]
On February 9, 2022, she followed up her previous post stating she had fully let go of her dream of becoming an idol as she could no longer audition for companies due to her age.[6]
On July 4, she was introduced as a member of the dance crew, Allure Dive[7]
2023-present: Show King Night, Girls Frontier[]
In 2023, she joined Slush and competed on MBN's dance survival show, Show King Night.[citation needed]
In June 2024, she joined Midori Sour under the stage name Ji L and competed on the jihadol survival program Girls Frontier.
As of now, she is seemingly focused on her career in dancing.
