DUSTIN (더스틴; also stylized as Dustin) is a four-member boy group under Na Entertainment. They debuted on January 6, 2020 with the digital single "Burn" as eight members.[2]
On May 24, 2021, their disbandment was announced.[3]
On December 26, 2021, a photo of the group's logo was posted with the hashtag "comeback_preparation", suggesting the group will be active again.[4]
History[]
Pre-debut[]
On September 4, 2019, Choi Sung Hoon introduced himself as the new main rapper of DUSTIN on the group's social media accounts.[5] A couple of days later, on September 7, it was announced that Kan had been suspended for personal reasons. Whether or not it meant that Kan would leave the group or would just take a hiatus was not specified.[6]
2019–2020: Debut with "Burn" and DUSTIN-ON[]
On December 6, 2019, a post was made teasing their first single titled "Burn" with 30 days until its release.[7] The members were then revealed one a day, starting from December 16 until December 22 in the following order: Kim Yoon,[8] Hwani,[9] Seung Han,[10] JJ,[11] Bel,[12] Siu,[13] and Da On.[14] 2 official teasers were released on January 4, 2020, and January 5, respectively.[15][16] They then made their debut on January 6, with the digital single "Burn" and the release of their music video.
On July 27, they posted a teaser for the upcoming debut of their first sub-unit DUSTIN-ON.[17] The sub-unit consists of members: Da On, JJ, and Bel. They will make their debut on August 17 with the mini album 0:Young.
2021–2022: New members, initial disbandment, restart, line-up changes, "Crazy"[]
On March 1, 2021, DUSTIN revealed that there would be two new members with the first being Sunho.[18] The next day, Dojun was revealed as the second newest member.[19]
On May 24, LPA Entertainment announced their disbandment due to internal circumstances.[3]
However, on December 26, a photo of the group's logo was posted with the hashtag "comeback_preparation", suggesting the group would be active again.[4] At the time, only Siu and Seung Han posted on the group's account.[20]
On February 3, 2022, Mini was officially introduced as a new member of DUSTIN through in his first V Live. It was also later stated that same day that DUSTIN would introduce a new member every Thursday.[21] Win was then introduced on February 10,[22] followed by Lake on February 17,[23] and Seunggi to be on February 24.[24] On March 4, they then officially released the group profile photo, confirming that Seung Han had left.
On August 11, they released a teaser schedule for their single album "Crazy", set for release on September 3.[25]
2023: Mini's departure, Win's hiatus, Da On's return, new sub-unit, new members, MJ's departure, "Blacklist", "New Love"[]
In January 2023, Mini left the group due to unknown reasons since his Instagram account was deleted.
On February 3, DUSTIN announced that Win has been on hiatus due to health problems.[26]
On February 10, DUSTIN announced, after a year of preparation, that they created a new sub-unit called DUSTIN-G where it will be revealing the first four members.[27]
On February 13, it was announced that Da On would join DUSTIN again after the group's reformation in 2022.[28]
On February 15, Raphael, Alex and MJ were introduced as new members.[29][30][31]
On May 8, Na Entertainment revealed that they had lost contact with MJ and that due to his parents' opposition, he would no longer join DUSTIN.[32]
On May 22, they released a teaser schedule for their single album "Blacklist", set for release on June 1.[33]
On October 7, they released a teaser schedule for their special album New Love, set for release on October 13.[34]
2025: Departure of Siu[]
On April 6, NA Entertainment announced member Siu's departure. [35]
