Watch Us! Work as D.I.P! Hello, we are D.I.P!
(Watch Us! Work as D.I.P! 안녕하세요, 디아이피입니다!)

—D.I.P

D.I.P (디아이피) was a six-member boy group under Inter B.D Entertainment. They made their debut on November 9, 2016 with the digital single "Fizz".

Their name is short for "Diplomat."[1]

History[]

Pre-debut[]

Prior to the formation of D.I.P, Hyeongseong, Taeha, Seungho, Suhan, Soomin and B.Nish were all in the group Lose Control. Suhan was also a pre-debut member of IMFACT and Jackpot, and also appeared on BOY24.

The original pre-debut lineup consisted of 11 members: Hyeongseong, Insu, Seungho, Seunghyuk, Soomin, Suhan, Jeeho, Sangwoo, Yoobon (B.Nish), Uhyeong, and Wontak.

On March 28, 2016, their agency held a charity concert and revealed that D.I.P was about to prepare to shoot the music video for their debut song "Fizz."[1]

On April 14, it was announced that Seunghyuk, Sangwoo, Wontak, and Insu had left the group.[2]

On April 23, it was revealed that Suhan had left the group due to unknown reasons.[3] However, he returned later in the year and eventually debuted with the group.

In September, Jeeho left the group.

2016–2017: Debut with "Fizz", lineup changes, "A Likely Night"[]

On November 9, 2016, D.I.P debuted as a six-member group with the their first digital single "Fizz." The group held the first music stage the day prior on SBS MTV's The Show.[4]

In December, it was announced that Suhan had left the group. However, he seemingly continued to be a member until early 2017, when the group's official accounts unfollowed him.

In April 2017, new member Taeha joined the group. He was previously in Lose Control with Seungho, Hyungseong, Soomin, B.Nish, and former member Suhan.

In August, it was announced that D.I.P would have their first comeback on September 12.

In September, new member Z.One was added to the group, however he did not participate in their upcoming comeback.

On September 12, D.I.P came back with their second digital single "A Likely Night."

2018: Hyeongseong's departure, Makestar funding[]

At some point in early 2018, Hyeongseong left the group.

On May 9, D.I.P opened up a Makestar funding project for their upcoming single album. Unfortunately, the project eventually got cancelled.[5]

They presumably disbanded around November 2018, following the departures of Taeha, Seungho, Soomin, B.Nish and Uhyeong. However, the remaining member Z.One went on to become a member of DIP.MX under the same company.

Trivia[]

  • Seungho apparently stated on his Facebook that him and B.Nish were in a relationship. They also apparently confirmed on Instagram live that they had been dating for several years. This was later denied by B.Nish's new company, however it's likely that this was a lie as the two had previously been very open about it. It's unknown whether they're still dating, however they seem to have broken up.
  • According to Hyeongseong's old Facebook, he's bisexual and attracted to men and women.
