Cosmic is the 11th (labeled as seventh) mini album by Red Velvet. It was released on June 24, 2024 with "Cosmic" serving as the album's title track.

The Cosmie version, which was released on August 1, 2024, includes all 6 previously released songs and one new song, "Sweet Dreams", which is the title track of the album.

The physical album comes in 14 versions: two Photo Book versions (Midnight Sun and Hotel), two Poster versions (Midnight Sun and Hotel), five individual SMini versions, and five individual Cosmie versions (NFC).

Background[]

In a interview on December 31, 2023, Red Velvet announced that they will be releasing a special album in 2024 to commemorate their 10th anniversary.^[2] On February 8, 2024, SM Entertaiment revealed that Red Velvet will be releasing a mini album in the second half of the year.^[3] On May 4, it was announced that the album will be released at the end of June.^[4] On June 10, it was announced that they will be releasing their ninth mini album Cosmic on June 24.^[5]

Critical reception[]

"Cosmic" was ranked #7 on the Billboard's top 25 best K-Pop songs of 2024 list.^[6] and #5 on the NME's 25 best K-pop songs of 2024.^[7]

Commercial performance[]

Cosmic reached #1 on the iTunes Top Albums charts in 41 regions. It also ranked #1 on the AWA's realtime rising chart in Japan, as well as Tencent Music's K-Pop Chart, QQ Music's and KuGou Music's digital album sales charts in China.^[8]

Cosmic debuted at #145 on the Billboard 200.^[9]
