History[]

2019–2020[]

CoCo was formed as a kids kpop girl group by Fancy Factory in late 2018. The members were initially young girls who trained in the Choomseory Dance Academy & Art Company under the dance team name 'Coco Mademoiselle' before Fancy Factory stepped in to debut them as an official a girl group who releases music.[1] They debuted on January 28, 2019 with the digital single "Talk Talk". At the time of their debut, their first generation seven members were: Sin Sumin, Lee Jihyun, Park Seoha, Lim Hyojeong, Baek Minseo, Kim Suhyeon and Ryu Youngchae. The age of their members ranged from 14 years old to 11 years old (15 to 12 in Korean years).

Sometime in late 2019, five members left the group, including Sin Sumin, Park Seoha, Lim Hyojeong, Baek Minseo and Kim Suhyeon. This led to the selecting of new members in order to prepare for their upcoming second single. On January 30, 2020 CoCo revealed that their upcoming second single would be "Be Quiet", however due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the official release of the single was delayed.[2][3] Nonetheless, CoCo continued to introduce its newly selected second generation members starting in April, which consisted of Sin Yejin, Choi Minjung, Ju Hyolin, and twin maknaes Nam Gayun and Nam Dayun.[4]

On August 15, 2020, Ju Hyolin left the group and the official announcement were do the August 26.

On November 11, 2020, CoCo finally released their comeback single, "Be Quiet", along with a music video.[5] Shortly afterwards, members Sin Yejin, Nam Gayun and Nam Dayun left the group. As a result, Baek Minseo returned to the group and two new members named Choi Youngseo and Hyun Jinseo were introduced through a dance cover video released on November 22[6] while their names were shown through the group's updated Instagram bio.

2021–present[]

On June 29, 2021, CoCo announced that their contracts with all the current lineup members were terminated and that they have revamped their SNS accounts to include the 'Coco Mademoiselle' dance team, some of whom will become official members of the next generation of CoCo.[7]
