2023-present: Debut, lineup changes, "More and More"[]

In 2020, Rainbow Company (later known as Rainbow E&M) created Future Idol, an idol development project for the purpose of debuting various project idol groups throughout 2021, 2022 and 2023 through its project, known as 'Future Idol Asia'.

On February 3, 2023, Future Idol revealed Clair as one of the their first idol groups formed in early 2023 which were not previously part of their first or second Future Idol showcase. The same day, Clair released a teaser video revealing their debut date to be on February 10, 2023, with the single "Dubi Dubi Dum Dum".[2]

On August 15, in the third Future Idol showcase, it was shown that Clair had gone through a lineup change, as Minseo, Siu, Haejin, Haeun, and Gyurin were revealed to have left the group, and Yehyeon, Jenya, and Ayeon had joined the group.[3] The following week, a teaser was posted, confirming that they will release their second single "More and More" on September 1.[4]
