Chic&I's (시크한아이들), formerly known as CHIC&IDLE, is a six-member project girl group under Liz Entertainment. They debuted on July 20, 2020, with the digital single "3! 4!".

History[]

2020: Debut with "3! 4!" as CHIC&IDLE[]

On June 25, Liz Entertainment revealed that they would be debuting a nine-member project girl group named CHIC&IDLE. With this, they opened social media accounts for the group and revealed their first member, Hayu of ICU.[1] The remaining members were revealed in the following days: Chae i, Ssuktteok, and Abin of ICU; U Hee, Laeun, and Dayeon of Chic Angel; and Liz Entertainment trainees Byeolha and Xindy.[2]

The group held their debut stage on M Countdown on July 16, where they performed their upcoming track "3! 4!".[3] The song is a remake of the 1996 song of the same title by the co-ed hiphop group Roo'Ra.[4]

The group officially debuted on July 20, with the digital single "3! 4!".

2021–2022: Byeolha's departure, Naye's addition, name change to Chic&I's and comeback with "Sunmer Story"[]

On November 24, 2021, the group released a teaser on Instagram and revealed plans for new music in 2022.[5] The teaser excluded Byeolha, which confirmed that she left the group. Starting from December 8, member teasers were uploaded, which included newest member Naye of ICU.[6]

On July 10, 2022, the group announced that they had changed their English name to Chic&I's (with their Hangul name to remain the same) and would be making their comeback on the 15th with the digital single "Summer Story".[7]

2023: Adittion of Loa and Lina. Dayeon's departure. Miku, A-ra, and Hari's addition, Laeun, U-Hee, Hayu, Ella, Naye, and A-ra's departure. Kyrin and Sara's addition, Kyrin's departure[]

On January 25, 2023, the group revealed a new member, Loa.[8] Later, on April 28, 2023, the group revealed another new member, Lina.[9]

On May 29, 2023, Dayeon announced her departure from Chic Angel and Liz Entertainment through a handwritten letter posted on her Instagram, making it probable that she also left Chic&I's.[10]

On August 16, 2023, a new lineup was announced, consisting of: Abin, Chae i, Naye and Miku from ICU; A-ra and Hari from Girls' World, as well as members Xindy, Loa, and Lina. This marked the departures of Laeun, U Hee, Hayu, and Ella.[11]

On August 31, 2023, it was revealed that Naye and A-ra had left the group, and that Girls' World member Kyrin and a new member, Sara have joined the group.[12]

On October 17, 2023, it was announced that Kyrin would be leaving Chic&I's and the company.[13]

2024-present: Xindy, Lina & Sara's departure, Hari's hiatus, Return of Uhee, Naye & Kyrin, Windy's addition, Loa's Departure, Uhee's departure[]

On March 8, 2024, it was announced that WE-SAY had disbanded, with Lina and Sara leaving the agency and Loa transferring to ICU.[14] Subsequently, Xindy, Lina and Sara left Chic&I's.

On April 1, 2024, Loa announced her departure from ICU due to visa and housing issues. While she clarified that she was still under Liz Entertainment, she didn't participated in Chic&I's activities after this so it was assumed the she had left the group.[citation needed]

On March 13, 2024, Liz Entertainment announced that Girls World had entered a period of reorganization through auditions. Due to this, Hari would be suspending all of her activities with Girls' World, as well as Chic&I's, to go on vacation in Japan.[15]

On May 19, 2024, the group posted a new photo to Instagram, confirming Naye, Kyrin and Uhee's return to the group, Windy's addition and Loa's departure, making them an eight-member girl group.[16]

On July 27, 2024, the group appeared to have underwent another lineup change as 6 members were spotted: Chae i, Miku, Abin, Naye, Windy & Kyrin.[17]
