Checkmate (stylized in all caps) is the fifth mini album by ITZY. It was released on July 15, 2022 with "Sneakers" serving as the album's title track.
The physical album comes in nine versions: five standard editions, one limited edition and three special editions.
Commercial performance[]
JYP Entertainment revealed that as of July 14, Checkmate surpassed 700,000 stock pre-orders.[1]
On Hanteo Chart, Checkmate sold 472,394 copies in the first week of its release (July 15 to 21), doubling their personal first-week sale record.[2]
Checkmate debuted at #8 on the Billboard 200 chart, making it the first album by ITZY to chart in the top 10. The album sold 33,000 equivalent album units during the week of July 15-July 21.[3] Checkmate spent three consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200 chart.[4]
