Yoon Chaekyung (윤채경), also known simply as Chaekyung (채경), is a South Korean actress and singer under PA Entertainment. She is a former member of APRIL, I.B.I, C.I.V.A and PURETTY.
Career[]
Pre-debut[]
Chaekyung appeared in a Nintendo Korea Wii TV commercial in late 2011, titled "When Relatives Gather" (친척이 모이면), alongside Cho Shiyoon.[1]
2012: Debut with PURETTY[]
On January 31, 2012, she, then a member of the DSP Media trainee group DSP Girls, was announced as part of a new girl group set to debut through the Japanese-Korean joint anime Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future. The group debuted in Japan on September 5 as PURETTY with the single "Cheki Love". Despite plans for a Korean debut, they disbanded in January 2014.[2][3]
2014: KARA Project[]
On May 16, 2014, she was the fourth contestant to be revealed on the reality survival show KARA Project.[4] She finished in fifth place in the finale on July 1 and did not debut as a member of KARA.[5]
On June 27, she made a cameo in DRAMAcube's omnibus romance drama "Secret Love" alongside former PURETTY members Hyein, Cho Shiyoon, and Somin, with KARA's Kang Ji-young in the main role.[6]
2016: Produce 101, Chaekyung & Chaewon "Clock", C.I.V.A, I.B.I, APRIL[]
In January 2016, Chaekyung became a contestant on Mnet’s survival program Produce 101, representing DSP Media alongside Cho Shiyoon. She placed 16th place in the finale, thus not debuting with I.O.I.[7]
On May 1, Chaekyung and APRIL's Kim Chae Won released the single "Clock".
After Produce 101, she debuted as part of the project group C.I.V.A with the single "Why" on July 8.
On August 18, Chaekyung debuted as a member of the project group I.B.I with the digital single "Molae Molae". The group disbanded sometime in October or November of the same year.
On October 29, following the announcement of Hyunjoo’s departure from APRIL to focus on her acting career under DSP Media, the company revealed plans to add new members, with Chaekyung, who had previously performed with the group, rumored to join.[8][9][10][11][12] On November 24, DSP introduced Chaekyung and Rachel as new members, re-forming APRIL as a six-member group. They released interview videos introducing them on November 30.[13][14][15][16]
They debuted as members on January 4, 2017, with APRIL's third mini album Prelude.
2022-present: APRIL's disbandment, change of agency, acting endeavor[]
On January 28, 2022, DSP announced that APRIL had officially disbanded.[17]
On April 22, 2022, DSP announced Chaekyung's departure from the agency after her contract ended on the 20th.[18] A few days later, on April 25, she signed an exclusive contract with Management AM9 to promote as an actress.[19]
On November 19, 2023, she appeared in the KBS historical drama Korea–Khitan War.[20]
On March 27, 2025, it was reported that Chaekyung would not renew her exclusive contract with Management AM9, which was scheduled to expire on April 25.[21]
On September 24, 2025, it was announced that Chaekyung would make a special appearance in episodes 7 and 8 of the drama Confidence Queen (컨피던스맨 KR); on the same day, PA Entertainment’s official Instagram began listing her among its artists. It was confirmed on November 3 that she had officially signed with PA Entertainment.[22][23]
On November 15, 2025, she appeared in the DramaBox drama 내가 떠난 뒤.

On November 19, 2025, it was reported that Yoon Chaekyung and former national badminton player Lee Yong-dae have been dating for about a year. PA Entertainment briefly responded, stating that it is difficult to confirm as it is the actress's private life.[24]
