Chaein (채인) is a South Korean singer-songwriter and rapper under RBW. She is a member of the girl group PURPLE KISS.
Career[]
2009: Star King[]
In 2009, Chaein appeared in the SBS reality show Star King as a part of the Baby Wonder Girls where they performed "Nobody". Another prominent member being Billlie's Siyoon.
2011–2014: K-Pop Star 1 and 3[]
In 2011, she appeared as a contestant on the competition show K-Pop Star 1 failing to pass the auditions. In 2014 she returned to K-Pop Star 3 being among the 12 finalists.
In 2014 a representative from YG Entertainment shared with a media outlet that YG’s CEO Yang Hyun Suk had his eyes on Chaeyoung while being on the judging panel, recruiting her for the company.[1][2]
2019: Departure from YG, 365 Practice[]
Sometime in 2019 Chaeyoung left YG Entertainment. [citation needed] In February 2020, she was introduced as a member of RBW Entertainment's 365 Practice project.[3]
2020–2021: Debut with PURPLE K!SS[]
On July 28, 2020, she was revealed as the sixth member of PURPLE KISS.[4] The group debuted on March 15, 2021 with their first mini album Into Violet.
