Chaehyun (Korean: 채현, Chinese: 采炫, Japanese: チェヒョン) is a South Korean singer and MC under WAKEONE. She placed first on the reality survival show Girls Planet 999, making her a member of the girl group Kep1er.

Career

Pre-debut

Chaehyun became a trainee under SM Entertainment when she was only in her second year of middle school and trained under the label for 6 years until her departure sometime in-between 2019 and 2020.

2021: Girls Planet 999

On July 7, Chaehyun was confirmed as an upcoming contestant on Mnet's newest reality show, Girls Planet 999, along with the other participating trainees, through the prologue trailer. Her official profile was released on July 17. The show began airing on August 6 and finished on October 22. During the show's finale, she was revealed to have ranked 1st overall, thus making her a member of Kep1er and the group's center.

2022: Debut with Kep1er, The Show

On January 3, 2022, Chaehyun officially debuted with Kep1er with the release of their first mini album, First Impact.

On January 10, 2022, it was announced that Chaehyun would become a new MC for SBS MTV's The Show, following the departures of former MCs Jihan and Yohan.
