ChaTone (채원), formerly known as Tina (티나), Chaewon (채원) and XOi (쏘이), is a South Korean singer-songwriter under DaL LaLa Network. She is a former member of the girl groups S2, VNT and the band Sorea Band.
She made her solo debut on January 27, 2016 with the digital single "Pretend It’s OK".
She is also known for being a contestant on the survival shows The Last Audition of My Life and The Unit.
Career[]
2010–2011: VNT[]
On November 4, 2010, she debuted as a member of VNT with the group's first single album "Sound", under the stage name Tina.
The group presumably disbanded in April 2011.
2012-2013: The Last Audition of My Life[]
In 2012, she participated in the singing competition show The Last Audition of My Life and was a part of the 2nd place team, Royal Family.[1]
2014-2016: Sorea Band[]
On January 28, 2014, she joined Sorea Band as a guest vocalist, with their single "Zincha Zanchi", under the stage name XOi.[2] Although she originally joined the group as a guest vocalist, she later became a fixed member.
The band presumably disbanded in mid 2016 due to inactivity.
2016: Solo debut with "Pretend It’s OK"[]
On January 27, 2016, she made her solo debut with the digital single "Pretend It’s OK".
2017-2018: S2, The Unit[]
On August 24, 2017, she debuted as a member of S2 with the group's first single "Honeya", under the stage name Chaewon. The group presumably disbanded due to inactivity since February 2018.
In October 2017, she, alongside fellow member Yujeong, became contestants on the survival show The Unit. She was eliminated in episode 7 at 62nd place.[3]
2020: Stage name change and "New Things"[]
On November 30, 2020, she released the digital single "New Things" under her new stage name ChaTone.
