Jihadols

Jihadols (지하돌), from jiha (지하) meaning 'underground' and dol from 'idol' (아이돌) - combined to mean 'underground idol'.

The jihadol is a newer subculture of the Korean idol that began emerging in late-2019 and early-2020. It primarily focuses on live stage performances in local theaters and have a concept of "idols you can meet", similar to the concept of AKB48 whom it takes its inspiration from, and has more similarities to the Chika idol culture (Japanese underground idol culture) rather than Korean idol culture.

Alternatively, jihadols can be called 'underground artists' (individuals/duos/groups/bands), or 'live idols'.
