CatChuuuu (캣츄), formerly known as CiliCelli, was a four-member girl group under Dream Entertainment. They made their debut on July 7, 2019 with the digital single "Happy Day".
The group presumably disbanded as they became inactive since January 2020.
History[]
Pre-debut[]
All four members had previously attended the K-pop idol training school KPOP Gakuen in Tokyo for a year and a half. They were also active as a dance cover group under the name CiliCelli, posting mulitple covers on YouTube. They even appeared at KCON Japan 2019, performing covers of BLACKPINK songs.[1]
On June 1, 2019, the group posted a video teasing their upcoming debut as an idol group, under the name CatChuuuu.[2]
2019: Debut with "Happy Day" & first comeback with "Catch U"[]
On July 7, 2019, CatChuuuu made their debut with the digital single "Happy Day". The subtitled version of the MV was released on the July 8, followed by the dance practice MV ver. on July 23.
On July 30, 2019, the group made their first comeback with their second digital single "Catch U". The subtitled version of the MV was released on September 10, followed by the dance practice MV ver. on September 29.
2020: Disbandment[]
Since January 2020, the group stopped updating their SNS. Their Twitter and Facebook accounts were also deleted so it was assumed that they had disbanded silently.
