Candy is the first winter special mini album by NCT DREAM. It was released on December 16, 2022 with "Candy" serving as the album's title track.

The physical album comes in sixteen versions: Photobook, Special, seven member-specific digipack versions and seven member-specific SMini versions.

Background[]

On November 17, 2022, NCT Dream released a video teasing their first winter special mini album, Candy, to be released on December 19.^[1]

Composition[]

"Candy" is a remake of H.O.T.'s song of the same name.^[2] "Tangerine Love (Favorite)" is described as a retro synth-pop song, meanwhile "Take My Breath" is a medium pop song.^[3]

Commercial performance[]

Candy reached #1 in 16 different countries on the iTunes Top Albums chart. The song "Candy" reached #1 on QQ Music, Bugs, and Vibe.^[4]

"Candy" reached #1 on the Melon Top 100 chart on December 18. The song also reached #9 on the Melon 24Hits chart which makes NCT Dream the third boy group to chart in the top 10..^[5]

As of December 18, Candy has reached 2,004,000 pre-orders.^[6]

Candy sold 761,609 copies in its first day of release on Hanteo.^[7] Two days later, Hanteo reported that Candy surpassed 1 million sales which makes it NCT Dream's fastest album to do so.^[8] In its first week, the album sold 1,591,021 copies which breaks the group's previous record of 1,405,199 copies sold with their album Glitch Mode.^[9]

In Circle Chart's monthly chart, it was reported that Candy sold 1,564,457 copies in the month of December.^[10]

On February 9, 2023, Circle Chart announced that Candy received a million certification.^[11]
