CLOSE YOUR EYES (클로즈 유어 아이즈), also abbreviated to CYE (클유아), is a seven-member project boy group under UNCORE. Formed through JTBC's survival show Project 7, they made their debut on April 2, 2025 with the mini album Eternalt.

History[]

Pre-debut: Project 7[]

On April 20, 2024 JTBC revealed teasers inviting any male to apply for the show. The program will be produced by the creators of Sing Again and will air in the second half of 2024.[2] On September 11, it was announced that the show will premiere on October 18.

The final group will be managed by UNCORE, a label established by SLL.[3] On December 27, the finale aired revealing the group's name as CLOSE YOUR EYES, with Ma Jing Xiang ranking 1st, Kenshin ranking 2nd, Jeon Min Wook ranking 3rd, Seo Kyoung Bae ranking 4th, Song Seung Ho ranking 5th, Jang Yeo Jun ranking 6th and Kim Sung Min ranking 7th.[4]

On January 10, 2025, UNCORE announced that they will be taking legal action against one of the members' agencies. They claim that an agency had scheduled one of the group member to have activities with another group. However, CLOSE YOUR EYES' contract says that the members are not allowed to engage in activities outside of the project group without UNCORE approval in order to avoid schedule conflicts.[5] Later that day, PocketDol Studio refuted UNCORE's claims, stating that they did provide them pre-existing schedule plans dating back to prior the show's premiere, to coordinate timeline. They were made aware of the dual activities prohibition only after the final lineup was announced, contrary to what was originally planned, and asked to revise the contract to allow it. They further claimed that the agency lied and that communications with UNCORE and their own artists were cut off, and they had to file a missing person report for both artists, especially as Kenshin is a minor and a foreigner under PocketDol's legal care.[6] On January 16, UNCORE refuted all allegations in a new statement.[7]

On January 21, member Jeon Min Wook revealed in an interview with Cosmopolitan Korea that the group will debut in March.[8] However, it was reported later on by JTBC that CLOSE YOUR EYES will debut in April.[9]

On January 22, it was announced that Lee Hae In will be the executive producer for the group.[10]

2025: Debut with Eternalt, fanclub name, Snowy Summer[]

On March 5, 2025, it was announced that CLOSE YOUR EYES will debut on April 2 with the mini album Eternalt.[11]

On the day of their debut during their first fan showcase, CLOSE YOUR EYES revealed the name of their official fanclub to be CLOSER, which means the people closest to CLOSE YOUR EYES, and it also means someone so precious that you think of them even when you 'close your eyes.'"[1]

In an interview with ELLE Korea, CLOSE YOUR EYES confirmed they will be having a comeback in July.[12] On June 21, they unveiled a coming soon teaser for their second mini album.[13] The day later, they unveiled the promotion scheduler for Snowy Summer, set for release on July 9.[14]
