CHÁN is a South Korean singer under The Vault. He is the leader of the upcoming boy group AMBITION. He is a former member of the pre-debut group UTH and the group ATEEN.

He made his solo debut on February 20, 2025 with the digital single "Saucy".

He is best known for being a contestant on the survival shows Produce 101 Season 2 and Project 7.

Career[]

2017: Produce 101 Season 2[]

In 2017, Chan was a contestant on the survival program Produce 101 Season 2, as an individual trainee. He was eliminated in the fifth episode where his final rank was 85th.

2018-2019: ATEEN[]

On August 9, 2018, he was revealed as a member of the upcoming boy group ATEEN. They made their Japanese debut on September 1, 2018 with their first digital single "僕はちょっと違う".

On January 18, 2019, it was revealed that 6 out of 10 trainees from a company had sued their female CEO for sexual assault in a sushi restaurant in Tokyo meeting dinner on September 28, 2018.[1][2] The group was later confirmed, on February 6, to be ATEEN.[3] The agency's female CEO continued to physically and verbally abuse the group and all 10 members recounted how cruelly they were treated. In the end, they had to undergo psychiatric treatment, some suffered from insomnia, and were severely overworked, with their electronic equipment confiscated. The company denied them, but their contract was terminated and they broke up.

2019-2020: UTH[]

On December 26, 2019, he was announced as a member of the pre-debut group UTH.[4] The group has presumably disbanded before their official debut as their SNS has been inactive since early 2020.

2022–2024: AMBITION, Project 7[]

On March 14 2022, Chan, now under stage name Kyle, was revealed for the new upcoming five-member boy group called AMBITION with a poster about their concerts in Japan.[5]

On October 18, 2024, he was revealed as a contestant on JTBC's Project 7 but was unable to pass the survival round.

2025: Solo debut with "Saucy"[]

On January 26, 2025, Kim Chan teased a solo project to be released on February via his Instagram stories.[6]

On February 17, it was announced that he would be debuting as a soloist with the digital single "Saucy" under the stage name CHÁN.[7] On February 20, he debuted as a soloist and revealed he signed under the agency The Vault.[8]
