Boram (Korean: 보람; Japanese: ボラム) is a South Korean singer and actress. She is a former member of the girl group T-ARA and its sub-unit T-ARA QBS.

Prior to T-ARA, she debuted as a solo artist on April 15, 2008 with the digital single "Lucifer Project Vol 1. Love".

Career[]

2008: Solo debut[]

Originally, she debuted as a solo artist on April 15, 2008 with her first digital single "Lucifer Project Vol 1. Love".

2009: Debut with T-ARA[]

She debuted as a member of T-ARA on July 29, 2009 with the group's first single "Lie".

Under the group's rotating leadership system, Boram held the role from July 15, 2010 to June 14, 2011, in which the role was then passed onto Hyomin.[1][2]

2013: Debut with T-ARA QBS[]

On June 26, 2013, she debuted as a member of the group's sub unit T-ARA QBS with the single "Like A Wind".

2017: Departure from T-ara[]

On March 6, 2017, MBK Entertainment announced T-ARA was planning to release their final album as a six-member group before the expiration of Boram and Soyeon's contracts.[3] However, on May 6th, it was announced the group would continue as a four-member group as Boram and Soyeon's contracts had already expired.[4]

Boram's final performance as a member of the group took place on May 13th at a concert in Taiwan.[5]

Personal life[]

Family[]

Boram is from a family of long-established entertainers spanning several generations. In her immediate family, she is the first child and daughter of father Jeon Young Rok (a singer and actor) and mother Lee Mi Young (an actress). Her parents divorced in 1997. She has one full sibling, younger sister Jeon Wooram (also as Rami Nu) who debuted as a member of D-UNIT in 2012. Her father remarried in 1999 to a woman named Lim Ju Yeon, through whom she has two younger half-brothers, Jeon Yu Bin and Jeon Hyo Bin.

In her extended family, her paternal grandparents are grandfather Hwang Hae (a singer and actor) and Baek Seol Hee (a singer and actress). Additionally, her paternal uncle is Jeon Jin Young (a singer and actor) while her maternal uncle is Lee Chang Hoon (a comedian and actor).
