Bo Ra (Korean: 보라; Japanese: ボラ), also known by her full name Kim Bo Ra (Korean: 김보라; Chinese: 金紫萝; Japanese: キム・ボラ), is a South Korean singer-songwriter and actress under FNC Entertainment. She is a former member of the girl group Cherry Bullet.

She is also best known for participating in the reality survival shows V-1, Girls Planet 999, GIRL'S RE:VERSE and Queendom Puzzle.

Career[]

2017: FNC's new girl group[]

She was initially revealed as a member of the then-upcoming FNC Entertainment's eleven-member girl group on October 3, 2017.[1] However, the group debut was postponed.

2019: Debut with Cherry Bullet, V-1[]

On November 23, 2018, Bo Ra was revealed as the tenth and final member of Cherry Bullet.[2] The group officially debuted on January 21, 2019 with their first single album, "Let's Play Cherry Bullet".

On September 13, 2019, she became a contestant on the vocal survival show V-1. She was eliminated in the first round after losing to SONAMOO's High.D.[3]

2021: Girls Planet 999[]

On July 7, 2021, Bo Ra was confirmed as a upcoming contestant on Mnet's newest reality show, Girls Planet 999, along with the other participating trainees, through the prologue trailer.[4] Her official profile was released on July 17.[5][6] The show began airing on August 6 and ended on October 22. Unfortunately, Bo Ra was eliminated in the finale, with her final rank being K09, and ranking 15th overall.

2022: GIRL'S RE:VERSE[]

On October 26, 2022, characters for the virtual survival show GIRL'S RE:VERSE were revealed with Jipsunhui (집순희) speculated to belong to Bo Ra. She survived until the final episode, where she ranked seventh, it was confirmed that Jipsunhui belonged to Bo Ra and was unable to debut with FE:VERSE.[7]

2023: Queendom Puzzle[]

On May 19, 2023, Bo Ra was announced as a contestant for the survival show Queendom Puzzle.[8]

2024: Cherry Bullet's disbandment[]

On April 22, 2024, FNC Entertainment announced that Cherry Bullet had disbanded following the contract terminations of four members. However, Bo Ra remains signed with the company for individual activities.[9]

  • The name Bora is a native name in Korean, meaning "purple". However, in Chinese her name is Zǐluó (紫萝), literally meaning "a purple trailing plant".[6]
