"Bicycle" is the first digital single by RM. It was originally released on June 7, 2021 as part of the 2021 BTS Festa, before it was officially released on November 29, 2022.[1]
Background[]
On June 7, 2021, RM released his first solo song "Bicycle" via SoundCloud as part of BTS' eighth anniversary celebrations.[2] Produced, written and arranged by himself with jazz singer-songwriter john eun,[3] RM wrote he has always wanted to write a song about bicycles, adding that he "literally wrote the lyrics while riding (his) bicycle".[4]
Commercial performance[]
On December 6, 2022, "Bicycle" debuted at #3 on the Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart.[5]
