Best of the Best (베스트 오브 더 베스트), also known by the abbreviation B.O.B (베오베) or as Project Dancer: Best of the Best (프로젝트 댄서 베스트 오브 더 베스트), was a 2019 survival show created and hosted by AfreecaTV on their streaming services.

Concept[]

Auditions for the show were open to BJs through auditing for the dance training program Project Dancer, a program which aimed to fosters BJs selected at the audition into high-quality dancers through expert guidance. The aim of Best of the Best is to debut a six-member girl group named VIOLET which will be composed of BJs who were verified trainees of Project Dancer. The show judges contestants based on the same skills which are needed by idols, such as dancing and singing.[1][2]

Aftermath[]

  • The six finalists, Yu Eun, GuSeul, Kwon Do Yeon, Yeo Ri, Rosie and Innocent Dada, debuted in the girl group VIOLET on September 1, 2019 with the release of their debut digital single, "Best of the Best".
    • Member Yu Eun withdrew from the group on September 28, 2019 after she was sued for defamation by former friend and BJ Lee Seol, however, charges were dropped due to insufficient evidence.[5] Yu Eun did not rejoin VIOLET, and in 2020, she eventually moved onto becoming a member of a new pre-debut girl group, named Delight, which later became the co-ed trainee group, Just COLOR.
