Baekhyun (Korean: 백현; Japanese: ベクヒョン) is a South Korean singer and actor under 1&B 100. He is a member of the boy group EXO, its sub-units EXO-K and EXO-CBX. He is also the leader of the supergroup SuperM and a member of the virtual group HEARTSTEEL.
He made his solo debut on July 10, 2019 with the mini album City Lights.
Career[]
2012: Debut with EXO[]
Baekhyun debuted as a member of EXO and its sub-unit EXO-K on April 9, 2012, with the group's first mini album Mama.
2016: EXO-CBX[]
On October 31, 2016, Baekhyun debuted as a member of the group's sub-unit EXO-CBX with the mini album Hey Mama!.
2019: Solo debut, SuperM[]
He made his solo debut on July 10, 2019, with his first mini album City Lights.
On August 4, he was confirmed as a member of the supergroup SuperM.[2] The group debuted on October 4 with their self-titled mini album.
2023: Lawsuit against SM Entertainment, One Signature establishment, debut with HEARTSTEEL[]
On June 1, 2023, Baekhyun, alongside Xiumin and Chen, announced through their legal representative and lawyer Lee Jae Hak from law firm LIN, that they have taken legal action against SM Entertainment, citing unreasonable long-term contracts and non-transparency regarding settlement reports. They added that the termination of their existing exclusive contracts is effective as of this day.[3] SM Entertainment released a statement refuting their claims.[4] On June 19, SM Entertainment stated that they partially revised the contract of the three artists, who will remain in the company and continue to be active in EXO activities.[5]
On August 8, through an Instagram live, Baekhyun announced that he established his own company, One Signature, with choreographer Kasper, in order to train dancers and choreographers.[6] However, SM Entertainment denied Baekhyun's claim that they were aware of the launching of his agency.[7]
On October 16, he was revealed as a member of the virtual group HEARTSTEEL.[8] The group debuted on October 23 with the digital single "Paranoia".[9]
2024: I&B100 establishment[]
On January 3, 10 Asia reported that Baekhyun established a company called 1&B 100 for his solo activities on June 23, 2023 and will act as its CEO Director. They further added that EXO members Xiumin and Chen will join the agency for their individual activities.[10] On January 8, SM Entertainment confirmed the reports.[11]

On June 19, 2014, local news source Dispatch reported that Baekhyun and Girls' Generation's Taeyeon were dating, which was later confirmed by SM Entertainment.[12] On September 15, 2015, it was reported the two had broken up due to their busy schedules. SM Entertainment had yet to comment on the matter.[13]
Military service[]
On April 2, 2021, Baekhyun and SM Entertainment confirmed he would enlist on his birthday on May 6 as a public service worker. He got the military exemption because he has been managing hypothyroidism since high school.[14] He was discharged on February 5, 2023.[15]
