BLITZERS (블리처스) is a six-member boy group under Wuzo Entertainment. Originally as seven, they made their debut on May 12, 2021 with their first EP Check-In.
History[]
2020: Pre-debut[]
SNS accounts for the group (then known as WUZOCIRCLE or Circle) officially opened on March 17, 2020.[2]
On November 7, 2020, the group released the music video for their first pre-debut song, "Blitz". On December 4, 2020, they released the music video for their second pre-debut song, "Drawing Paper".
For their graduation concept, a vote was held to decide who is the "prom king". Trainees with the highest votes became part of the line up.[citation needed]
On December 12, 2020, the group's new name, BLITZERS, was revealed through their official fancafe opening.[3]
2021: Re-introduction, Check-In and Seat-Belt[]
Starting on January 29, 2021, BLITZERS began introducing the members through their pre-profile gif. The first person to be reintroduced was Wooju on the 29th, followed by Sya (formerly known as Junyoung) on February 2, Jinhwa on February 5, Lutan (formerly known as Gyeongseok) on February 9, Juhan on February 12, Go_U (formerly known as Junho) on February 16, and Chris on February 19.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10]
On March 24, 2021, through their official social media accounts, it was announced that the group was schedule to debut in May.[11] On April 7, 2021, it was announced that BLITZERS would make their debut on May 12.[12]
On May 12, BLITZERS then made their debut with the EP Check-In. Their showcase was held on the same day at the Yes24 Live Hall.[13]
On June 2, they were revealed to have been selected as the advertisement models for Saucony, ABC Mart’s shoe brand.[14]
On September 13, the group announced their first comeback with their second EP, Seat-Belt, which was released on October 6.[15] Two days later, on September 15, the pre-orders for the physical album was open with there being two different versions: Miss and Take.[16] A portrait video for the Miss version of the album was then released individually for each member in pairs from September 23 to September 26. The first pair being Jinhwa[17] and Go_U,[18] with Juhan and Sya following.[19][20] The second to last pair's portrait videos to be released was Chris[21] and Lutan.[22] Wooju's video, along with the group's portrait video, were then released on the final day.[23][24] The next day, official photos for the individual members, along with the group photo, were all released for the Miss version with the official photos for the Take version being released on September 28. The track list was revealed on September 30, showing that there will be a total of 6 songs with "Will Make a Mistake" serving as the title track.[25] Later that day, the highlight medley was released.[26] On October 3, the group's portrait video for the Take version was then released.[27] The EP was then released on October 6, along with the music video for "Will Make a Mistake". The comeback showcase was held on the same day.[28]
On October 19, BLITZERS announced their official fandom name to be "BLEE", which stands for BLITZERS’S GLEE.[1]
2022: first U.S. and European tour, "Bobbin", Win-Dow[]
On December 14, 2021, they announced their first US tour, BLITZERS 2022 U.S. Tour 'Check-in', which consisted a total of six stops, first taking place in Los Angeles, California on February 5 and concluding in Chicago, Illinois on February 17.[29]
On December 21, 2021, the group announced their first single album, "Bobbin", released on January 3, 2022.[30]
On June 27, 2022, the group announced their third EP, Win-Dow, released on July 20.[31]
On September 7, they announced their first European tour, the BLITZERS 2022 Europe Tour 'Looking For BLEE', which will run through October.[32]
2023: Go_U's hiatus, "Macarena"[]
On March 28, 2023, Wuzo Entertainment announced that member Go_U was recently diagnosed with restless legs syndrome and would therefore be going on hiatus to focus on treatment.[33]
On April 10, 2023, the group announced their second single album, "Macarena", released on April 24.[34]
2024: Go_U's departure[]
On January 29, 2024, Wuzo Entertainment announced that Go_U has left the group for health reasons.[35]
