Awe5ome Baby (어썸베이비) was a five-member girl group under TN Entertainment. They debuted on June 19, 2015 with the digital single "Why Should I?".
The group disbanded on December 4, 2016.
History[]
Pre-debut[]
On November 15, 2014, the members of Awe5ome Baby were introduced through profiles posted on their fancafe.[1] On the same day, they participated as backing vocalists for Son Seungyeon's performance of "Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen in the 173rd episode of the KBS2 television show Immortal Songs 2.[2]
2015: Debut with "Why Should I?"[]
On May 15, 2015, Awe5ome Baby performed their unreleased song "Why Should I?", Free Style's "Y (Please Tell Me Why)", and WINNER's "Empty" in the 64th episode of the MBC television show Picnic Live.[3][4][5]
On June 19, "Why Should I?" was released as their debut digital single.
On July 17, the music video for "Why Should I?" was released on YouTube.[6] During July, they also promoted the single on the music shows Show Champion, The Show, and Simply K-pop.[7][8][9]
2016: Disbandment[]
On December 4, 2016, it was announced that the group disbanded.[10]
Aftermath[]
Following the disbandment of Awe5ome Baby, the members went their separate ways:
- In 2017, Sumin debuted as an actress in the television drama, Hit the Top. She has since continued to work as an actress. She released an OST on April 20, 2019, titled "From One Another to Us", for the web drama The Way I Hate You.
- In 2017, Dahee participated as a contestant on the survival show, Idol School. Unfortunately, she was eliminated on Episode 9 after achieving 24th place.[11] She made her solo debut on August 7, 2021 with the digital single "Would U".
- In 2018, Yechan joined MyDoll Entertainment and debuted as a member and the main vocalist of the girl group PinkFantasy on October 24, 2018. She later debuted with their subunit MDD on December 19, 2019.
The circumstances of June and Lina remain unknown and both members have since disappeared from the public eye.
