"After Like" (stylised as After LIKE) is the third single album by IVE. It was released on August 22, 2022 with "After Like" serving as the single's title track.
The physical album is available in nine versions: three photobook versions and six member-specific jewel cases.
Background[]
On July 17, 2022, Starship Entertainment confirmed reports stating that the group is preparing for an August comeback.[1] On July 24, 2022, a teaser posted across the group's social medias announced their comeback work's title, format, and release date.[2]
Composition[]
"After Like" was described as a song that combines a sophisticated deep house based rhythm with a classic and unique hook, the lyrics talk about a specific love method that you want to show with your actions and not your heart as it will show a variety of charms. The song contains an interpolation of Gloria Gaynor's iconic classic "I Will Survive". Group member Rei wrote the rap for the song.[3][4]
"My Satisfaction" was described as a pop punk number with an addictive melody with a rock sensibility, and the powerful metal sound and impressive vocals of the IVE members harmonizing over multiple beats to create an overwhelming atmosphere.[5]
Promotions[]
To promote the album, the group hosted a showcase that was broadcast on Naver NOW on the day of its release.[6]
The group also performed the title track "After Like" on various music shows such as M Countdown, Music Bank and Show! Music Core.[7][8][9]
Commercial performance[]
After Like sold 464,690 copies in its first day of release. With only one day of sales, it broke IVE's previous first week sales record.[10] Moreover, the first-day sales figure ranks as the fourth highest first day sales in Hanteo Chart history.[11] In one week, After Like sold 924,363 copies on Hanteo.[12] The album also sold 1,081,201 copies in its first week on the Circle Album Charts.[13] Due to selling over 1 million copies it has received a million certification on Circle Chart.[14]
On September 2, Hanteo Chart announced that the album had surpassed one-million copies sold, becoming only the second album by a Korean girl group to do so.[15]
The title track "After Like" was a commercial success, reaching number one on all major Korean digital charts such as Melon, FLO, Genie and Bugs. On September 13, Instiz's iChart revealed that "After Like" got its first perfect all-kill at 10:30 am KST, making it IVE's first song to do so.[16]
On October 6, the album was certified Million by the Korean Music Contents Association (KMCA) for selling 1 million copies on Circle Chart (formerly Gaon).[17]
On May 11, 2023, "After Like" received a platinum certification for reaching 100 million accumulated streams.[18]
